A collaboration between Nelson Arts Festival, NMIT and Light Nelson.

Piki Mai is returning and mappers and animators are invited to create a 10-30 second work using the Piki Mai map.

Pic’s Peanut Butter, Light Nelson and Nelson Arts Festival are proud to present Piki Mai, a mapped projection work created for the surface of the Nelson’s Cathedral Steps and Cathedral Tower. Piki Mai was originally created in 2011 by Michael Hodgson, Chris Macmillan and Dan Mace, as part of the Game On Festival.

Piki Mai Remap Project works will be screened throughout the season of Pic’s Piki Mai. Creators of screened works will receive a download code for Pitch Black’s new album THIRD LIGHT

On the night of Friday 25th October, Pitch Black – Michael Hodgson and Paddy Free – will play a live album launch concert on the steps saturated in a live triggered video show made up of sliced Piki Mai footage and excerpts from the Remap Project works.

For information, access to the map, indication of interest and community join the Piki Mai Remap Project on Facebook.
